Previously I had just thrown patterns on a panel, this time I wanted it to go somewhere.. A tree, sunshine, family... came to mind. It's definitely far from perfect but I did not see that while painting.
After blocking out the basic figures and the tree, I added some stamps and stenciled the leaves.
I was definitely starting to like the looks of this but it was too bland so I created some lines, turned that into blocks and decided that the left hand side of the tree annoyed me.... don't ask.... I do get these moments! So I cut that bit off.
Then I completely forgot to take pictures. Doh?!!I applied some printed tissue paper and added more colours with gelatos and finally stenciled flowered branches with white archival ink.
